Recipe Cookbooks

Monday, October 20th, 2008

I used to like to just throw  food together. Some of it was laziness, but another some of it was just the joy in experimenting. I might never use cooking recipes at all not if I could help it. I had many cookery books, but I never consulted the recipe book recipes. Many of them I inherited from pals who were moving out and in of the town, which made it easy to assemble quite a collection. I had no desire to get rid of them, but I saw tiny need for them.

Then one day, one of my mates a major gourmet came over. It was an Italian dish calzones I believe and it was one of the finest things I had ever had. I asked how he popped up with it, and to his my surprise he told me that he had just follow the recipe book recipe.

I knew that he was someone that like to experiment on his very own, and it wasn’t like him to use recipe book recipes. I asked him about it, and he told me about how much he had grown as a cook. He’d been eating more fit, and his meals had been much more tasty than they used to be. Hearing all this, I could not help but admit that cookery book recipes made some sense. I’m not fantastic at following directions, so I started my recipe cooking pretty straightforward.

I did lots of rice dishes, crockpot dishes, and straightforward baking. When I was prepared I got into some more complicated, tricky recipe book recipes.

I had always needed to try cooking Thai food, so I realized it was my chance to start. It did not turn out so well the 1st time I gave it a go, but I persisted. I will not say that I am quite as creative at cooking as I used to be, but I actually cook better food.
